Creating A Perfect Smile

Hi there, I'm Caylee Curtis. After going through orthodontic therapy during childhood, I started paying close attention how a nice smile can increase beauty. With appearance improvements, comes a huge confidence boost that can also bolster your looks. Upon making that discovery, I started researching all of the different ways people can create a gorgeous smile. As it turns out, dentists play a huge role creating a gorgeous smile by fixing tooth and jaw alignment issues. Dentists may recommend that their patients obtain braces, retainers or veneers that improve tooth placement or color. I will use this site to share information about these procedures and more. I hope to help you decide if these procedures are worth your time and money or if you should find a different option for your situation. Please visit often and check out my content to learn more information.

Problems Crooked Teeth Can Cause

If you have crooked teeth, then there is more for you to understand about how they can be negatively impacting you than just affecting the way your smile looks. Once you understand some of the things that can happen when you have crooked teeth, you will have more of an understanding of why you should consider seeing an orthodontist and having your teeth straightened. Here are some of the different things that can happen with crooked teeth:

Your speech can be affected

Depending on which teeth are crooked and to what degree, your speech can be affected. One example of a way that your speech can be affected by the fact that your teeth are crooked is air can pass through spaces between some of your teeth when you are saying certain sounds, and this can cause more of a whistling sound to come out. Another example is that you may end up with a lisp due to your teeth being crooked.

You will have a higher chance of developing cavities

When you have straight teeth, you will be able to brush and floss in order to remove food particles and bacteria from the surfaces of your teeth. However, when you have crooked teeth, you might not be able to brush or floss all of the surfaces of your teeth, and this means that your teeth will be more at risk of developing cavities.

You can experience uneven wear in your teeth

Another thing that can happen because of the crookedness of your teeth is that more wear may be put on some of your teeth and in certain parts of your teeth. That extra wear that is put on them will cause them to become worn more than other areas, and this can lead to you experiencing other issues, such as weaker areas in some of your teeth, which also increases your chances of cavities, as well as problems such as chipping them easily.

Conclusion

Now that you have learned some of the different problems that can arise from having crooked teeth, you should have a better understanding of why it can be so important to have your teeth straightened. You can see an orthodontist, and they can help you to choose the method that will work best for you when it comes to straightening your teeth. Once your teeth have been straightened, you will feel better and you will have decreased your chances of having certain dental issues.
