Creating A Perfect Smile

Hi there, I'm Caylee Curtis. After going through orthodontic therapy during childhood, I started paying close attention how a nice smile can increase beauty. With appearance improvements, comes a huge confidence boost that can also bolster your looks. Upon making that discovery, I started researching all of the different ways people can create a gorgeous smile. As it turns out, dentists play a huge role creating a gorgeous smile by fixing tooth and jaw alignment issues. Dentists may recommend that their patients obtain braces, retainers or veneers that improve tooth placement or color. I will use this site to share information about these procedures and more. I hope to help you decide if these procedures are worth your time and money or if you should find a different option for your situation. Please visit often and check out my content to learn more information.

What You Want To Learn About Invisalign

If you need to have your teeth straightened then you may feel better wearing Invisalign instead of having braces put on. Going in and getting braces put on can be scary. It is an uncomfortable ordeal to sit through, and it can seem so permanent since you know you will have to wear them constantly for a long time. This gives some people a great deal of anxiety about getting braces. If you have chosen to go with Invisalign, then this article will be a good read for you. It will give you the education you should have on Invisalign when you plan on going that route.

Aligners only work when in place

You may think you are getting off easy with Invisalign because you can take them out and get a break from them. However, you don't want to do this any more than what's absolutely necessary because they won't work at all when they aren't in place. This means that each time they are removed will be that much longer you are going to need to wear them to straighten your teeth the degree they need to be straightened. For the best results, the aligners should be in place for 22 hours each day.

You need to be careful not to set yourself up for failure with expectations that are too high

Aligners can be great teeth-straighteners for many reasons. However, they do have their flaws, and they aren't a miracle answer. So, you want to know that while it is possible to get the teeth you want by using them, you will still have a long road ahead of you. They still get uncomfortable to have in, they have more maintenance than braces would, and it may take you a long time to reach the results you want. Also, the results will happen at such a slow and steady progression that you may not even notice them for quite a while. Be patient and don't expect overnight results.

The huge benefit is the comfort level you get to enjoy while your teeth shift

Most people don't feel near the amount of discomfort those with braces experience, and this is a huge positive with regards to choosing aligners. Also, those who do experience some discomfort still experience it on a much lower scale, and it is completely gone after just a couple days of putting in their new set of aligners.

You do need to know how to treat aligners right, or you can damage them

While aligners are pretty easy to care for, there is a specific way of doing so. Taking care of them any other way than what you were directed can damage them and leave you needing to get new ones. You never want to use toothpaste to clean them. Instead, you should be using a clear anti-bacterial soft soap and lukewarm water while brushing them softly with a soft-bristled toothbrush only.
